Vancouver Spa: Spring Cleaning your Body

Water Tile and Rain Shower
One of my favorite treatments that I sometimes overlook is the Sea Flora Wild Organic Sea Weed Body Treatment. I’ve been feeling the need to shed some layers of late- clothes, belongings and internally, the build up of the wine and heavy winter foods I’ve been taking in over the last 6 months. And a body treatment is the perfect way to begin this process.
The service begins with the application of a body exfoliant that feature fucus sea weed. This sea weed increases circulation, stimulates detoxification and has anti-inflammatory and analgesic qualities. A combination of salts and sea mud brush away excess dead skin cells, leaving skin silky smooth while stimulating lymphatic circulation. This is just the start!
Next, an application of a gel containing 70% sea weeds is massaged into the skin. This gel is excellent for healing, hydrating, firming and excellent for improving circulation (which can help with cellulite).
Over the gel, a detoxifying clay body mask is applied to the body. Glacial clays have a very small molecular size, so the minerals they contain are readily absorbed by your body. Additionally they have an ionic charge that attracts toxins and bacteria, drawing them out of your skin.
While the mask is “recharging your batteries”, a mini-face treatment is performed. This includes exfoliation, pressure point massage and a balancing clay mask.
After about 20 minutes, you’re ready to be unwrapped and shower off the remaining body masque in the enveloping, warm, rain tile and water shower facility. Sooo nice!
To finish, an application of a nourishing body lotion is applied to the skin. The lotion is enriched with sea weed gels that provide an instant soothing effect for any skin irritations you may have. A bonus is how readily the cream is absorbed by the skin, avoiding any kind of oily residue.
In short, this treatment is a head to toe spring cleaning for the body. Sea weeds contain a myriad of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and proteins that are readily accepted by the skin, as sea water is almost identical to blood plasma. These provide your body with the perfect anti-oxidant and regenerating cocktail.
All of the Sea Flora Wild Organic Sea Weed Skin Care products contain ingredients which are indigenous to the West Coast, and the sea weeds are hand-harvested and cold pressed, so the integrity of their nutrients is not disturbed by processing.
Doing a series of treatments once a week for 3-6 weeks in combination with the infrared sauna is a great way to welcome the wavelengths of summer with an extra spring in your step.
