Your experience begins by slipping into a a cozy and private cedar-lined infrared sauna with gently piped-in down tempo music and your pick of lifestyle magazines. After your 25 minute session infrared sauna session, you’ll rinse away any remaining stress under the Kholer rain and water tile shower. By this time, your shoulders will have moved away from your ears and you’ll be ready to relax under the expert hands of one of our highly skilled Registered Massage Therapists. Your RMT will take the time to assess your individual needs and treat you accordingly. Next, you’re off to have your Customized Spruce Facial. Your skin therapist will begin your treatment with a thorough skin analysis to assess your unique needs. They will design your treatment drawing from a well curated line of professional skin care products that will effectively address your skin condition. Extractions, face, neck and shoulder massage are all included in this classic treatment.

 We wanted to give a warm V-Day e-embrace to our newest neighbor espace d.
December 22nd, 2011- espace d., a contemporary boutique featuring high-end home accessories artfully curated from around the globe opened at at 1108 Richards Street (at Helmcken St).
The boutique features an international collection of modern home accessories personally selected by proprietor Pierre Derreumaux, a France native who has since lived and travelled around the world with a passion for interior design.
With a focus on both emerging and well-established designers, each piece in the boutique represents the unique facets of contemporary design from leading worldwide capitals. “I believe it takes a well-travelled eye to discover the most beautiful and functional pieces for a space.” Says Derreumaux. “As a child I moved often between Europe and Africa. My wanderlust continued as an adult and my world travels made me passionate about the different interpretations of contemporary design.” The boutique’s collection aims to be the exclusive local carrier of premium home accessories, textiles and lighting from brands like Iittala, Kose and When Objects Work.
The design of espace d. was conceived and executed by Derreumaux in collaboration with MGB Architecture, the firm behind the design of Gastown’s Obakki and LYNNsteven boutiques as well as Oru at the Fairmont Pacific Rim. A minimalistic approach with clean lines and neutral colors is balanced with rich textures like oak paneling and exposed concrete. The concept mirrors the contemporary and modern product lines while also remaining subdued enough to allow the items to stand out in a gallery-like setting. Natural light floods the space through specially retrofitted floor-to-ceiling windows.
Originally from Paris, France, Pierre Derreumaux has drawn inspiration living in Europe, Africa, New Zealand, the United States and Canada. Says Derreumaux, “Launching espace d. is the culmination of a personal dream. After travelling the world I am now proud to call Vancouver home. I can’t think of a more perfectly diverse place to anchor the international vision of my boutique.”
