Getting Ready for Summer

It has been a long winter here in Vancouver- and the late Spring has us all ancy for the warm weather to begin and to stick around.

Although this means some late spring skiiing and snowboarding for die-hards like me- I have to admit that even I am hotly anticipating lounging at Third Beach this summer.

However, after spending all winter bundled up, there is some prep work that needs to be done.

Here’s an interesting article from the Guardian about how control hose and leggings can actually make our muscles lazy over the winter months- who knew?!

I’m also a huge fan of the YYoga studios. I just tried the Y-Ride class yesterday at the Flow Studio Location which combines spinning with yoga for a bit more of a cardio kick. Some of my favorite teachers are Meghan Currie and Clara Roberts-Oss, if you’re looking for a challenge- especially Meghan’s Core classes in the mornings at Flow. It hurts to laugh for a few days after that class! :)

As far as the look of your skin goes- the biggest challenge for women in the summer months is battling the dimpling that cellulite causes. This season my summer prep routine will be infrared sauna sessionstwo time a week paired with 3-5 days of exercise and proper nutrition. For a topical treatment, I’m going to try the Priori CoffeeBerry Body Shaping Complex. This product was put through a double-blind study which resulted in the subject loosing .25 to .50 inches off of there thighs. That’s fairly enticing I must say! I will keep you posted on the results.
